Danna Deeter, MS, LCMFT Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist

I believe there is a splendor in each of us that sometimes gets overshadowed by life’s challenges. My work focuses on discovering that splendor through a collaborative process. Clients are safe to explore who they are and identify what they want to change in a non-judgmental environment. With compassion, understanding and empathy, I help clients using an integrative approach to develop their personal strengths, build new skills, increase awareness, and help them create a life that is fulfilling and meaningful.

I specialize in working with individuals dealing with grief resulting from loss. The loss of one’s hopes and dreams resulting from such things as divorce, illness or financial hardship. And, the natural losses that are a part of aging and life transitions like moving away from home, marriage, becoming a parent and empty nesting. These losses often go unnoticed or are minimized.  Ignoring them limits oneself from living fully and thriving, so in our work together we make space for the loss. Through this courageous journey one learns to feel and move through the pain, to create healing and facilitate growth.

“Loss always proceeds renewal.” Richard Rohr

In addition, I work with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression and relationship issues. Our work focuses on enhancing self awareness and learning to integrate one’s feelings, thoughts and behaviors. By connecting with oneself through self compassion clients are able to embrace all parts of themselves to achieve wholeness and flourish. I am always honored to be a part of this healing process.

I am a Clinically Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Prior to completing my Master of Science degree in Family Therapy at Friends University, I spent ten years in the Wellness and Health Promotion field conducting cardiovascular and health screenings, providing health education, and offering personal training.
